EKLAA CHAAKLO
When I first went to Goa I was amazed
to see Pilot Riders. Thus was sparked idea of
traveling all alone. There after it became my habit to look out for free time,
plan a destination, pack off to place, enjoy the Me Time, and meet new people.
It also taught how to overcome hurdles and boost confidence. It eventually
earned me sobriquet of Travel Maniac and Talking Encyclopedia. Be it Desert or
Forest, a mountain trek or monument. Here are few places around the world to wander of all on your own.
1. Golden Triangle of India Delhi Agra Jaipur
This prominent tourist circuit soaks you in romance,
history, vibrating colors and culture. Trip begins from Delhi, the capital of
India. Red colored structure Lal Quilla was the
seat of Mughal dynasty which ruled country for nearly four centuries. Sonnet Lumiere, a light and sound show here in evening traces
the history of city. . The tall standing Qutab Minar with beautiful stone engravings is treat to eyes.
Rail Museum here is largest in Asia and showcase real locomotives of Indian
Railway since inception. Next destination is Agra, which has world famous symbol of love, the Taj
Mahal. This marvelous white marble structure was built by emperor in memory of his queen. Lal Quilla and Fathehpur Sikri are other places to visit before you move to Pink
City Jaipur. This vibrating city is rich possession of royal heritage. Fort
Amer, Hawa Mahal Jantar Mantar are places not to be missed.
2 The Himalayan
Kingdom Nepal
Katmandu is your touchdown point to this Himalayan kingdom. Pashupatinath Temple is the famous temple dedicated to
Lord Shiva and Swayambhunath is a Buddhist temple
also known as Monkey Temple, Durbar Square is places of famous masked dances
during Indra Jatra, Thamel
is a popular shopping destination. Pokhra is the
gateway to Annapurna Circuit or the Himalayan trek. Situated by Lake Phewa, the city has an International Mountain Museum
depicting people of Himalaya and history of mountaineering. Chitawan National Park is a reserve in south central
Nepal famous for giant hornbills, single horned
rhino and Bengal tiger.
3 Sri Lanka
Earlier know as Ceylon is an island nation in Indian Ocean
near southern tip of India. In capital city, Colombo National Museum gives you
insight to history of this Buddhist country. Other attractions are Jami Ul –Alfar mosque, Wolvendaal
Church and Gangaramya temple complex. Pettah Bazaar is a shopping destination here. Kandy in central Lanka is a city surrounded by mountains. The
Kandy Lake is good strolling spot. The city is also known for Temple of Tooth
(Shri Dalada Maligawa)
and the Royal Botanic Gardens famous for palm trees and rich orchid collection.
Dambulla located 148 kms
northeast of Colombo has largest caved temple complex in country.
4 Land of rising Sun
Japan
The biggest
attraction in this far eastern country is the journey in
Shinkansen, the bullet trains. This is a country to be visited for its art culture and cuisine along with
famous Mt Fujiyama. Kenrokuen
Garden in Kanazawa is one of the three great gardens of Japan. It also has D.T.
Suzuki Museum of Buddhist philosophy and Myoryu-ji
(the Ninja Temple).The island of Naoshima is home
to art museums and galleries. Yayoi Kusama’s huge
Pumpkin sculpture is also at Naoshima. Hiroshima
was the target of atomic bomb dropped during Second World War. The Hiroshima
Peace Memorial Museum is worth visiting. The glittering neon signed scape,
gardens and restaurants are attraction of this capital city, Tokyo.
5 Desert trail of
Arabia
The desert Arabia is thrill to experience. Camels also known
as Desert Ship were used in earlier times for
transporting goods and people. These animals have special ability to be highly mobile in adverse desert condition. Dubai is
one good place to embark upon this trip. Jeddah and
Riyadh are other cities to shop on. Sacred shrines of Mecca and Medina are also
in this desert kingdom.
6 Nile Cruise
Egypt is destination for Grand Pyramids, one of the seven
wonders of world. The Nile River is lifeline of Egypt since ancient time. The
best way to trace the passage of Egyptian history is to follow the course of
the Nile. Nile cruises operate between Luxor and
Aswan. Lake Nasser is one of the largest artificial
lakes in the world. Construction of High Aswan Dam led to its creation. Some of
the heritage sites in vicinity which could have submerged under water were
skillfully shifted to safer place.
7 Grand Canyons
The rock layers in this mountain range of North America
unfold the time period of earth’s existence. It stretches nearly 270 miles
widening up to 18 miles and a depth of 1 mile is a gift of nature to be relished with one’s own eyes. Grand Canyon National
Park is a UNESCO Heritage site. Different viewpoints
constructed here can give you sight of grandiose of stratified rocks and
layered side canyons. 8 Niagara Falls It is the trio of waterfalls on border of
Canada and America. This is one place that can be
enjoyed from Air by helicopter services, in water by Jet boats and of course
land galleries around. The Hurricane Deck here is probably the closest point in
the world one gets to close in to any waterfall. Water rushing from Bridal Veil
Falls creates tropical storm-like conditions.
9 African Jungle Safaris
Safari is a Swahili word that translates as long journey.
Meet the robust animals like elephant, black rhino, buffalo, lepers and lions
here. Kenya, Botswana and South Africa are place to
see animals in their own natural life style. African elephants are distinctly
known for their big ears and unique tusks. See the majestic cats chasing their
pray in openness of jungles. There is uncut drama of predator versus prey
unfolding before you. Kruger National Park in South Africa gives you glimpses
of puma, cheetah, hippopotamus and giant giraffes. Watching whales swim is
delight. The whale watching territory here stretches from Doringbaai
in Cape’s west to St Lusia on Cape’s east coast.
10 Machu Picchu
These are ruins of medieval Incas rule in South America. It is sandwiched between Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu mountains in Peru. It is one of the famous
archeological sites in world sprawling over 80,000 acres. Temple of Sun is an elliptically designed structure. During month of June the
rising sun shines directly into one of the temple’s windows. This indicates a
perfect alignment between the window, rock and sun. Adjacent to it are Temple
of Principle and Temple of Three Windows. Machu
Picchu’s giant rock, named “the Intihuatana” by
Bingham, (archeologist who discovered this site) is
believed to be some astronomical instrument
Incas rule.
